Vladimir’s debut in the blog. I will start in English
Yesterday our captain gave us clear request to bring 3 points from the match versus Nyon IV seen their grade of 2-2-1 compared to 3-2-2 for us and their results from 2 previous games where they lost to Yverdon and Bougy.
You all know Herilala – it is pretty funny to interact with him, this time was not an exception he forgot his short and tee-shirt so he played wearing trousers and a shirt from the office. We played with plastic balls XIOM and personally I find them OK, for me no much difference to DHS or Nitaku.
Already in the 1st match Philippe faced the first surprise facing Mohammed graded D1 (after two years of brake). Philippe couldn’t oppose much to a pretty aggressive and clean technique of Mohammed and lost 0:3. Vladimir had a pretty comfortable 1st match winning over Andre with 3:1. A real drama was in the match between Seb and Heri where Seb got the 1st set, then Heri equalized then Seb got the 3rd one at 14:12 and lost the 4th. In the 5th set all stared great for Seb, at some point he lead with 8:3 that he was able to bring to 10:6 but bad luck Heri was stable and balanced so he was able to take 5 points in a raw getting his well deserved victory with 3:2. So after the 1st round we were losing 1:2.
2nd round Philippe takes over Heri 3:1, lots of fun but not much to say game wise, Philippe was in attacking mood and it worked pretty well. Seb was imposing a fight to Andre but had to step out with 1:3 with many carottes in favor of Andre. I lost 0:3 to Mohammed being unable to find a way to effectively counter-attack with Mohammed making just a very few mistakes. So 2:4 after the 2nd round.
Le double was very important and after a short discussion we decided that Philippe and I will play versus Mohammed and Andre. Their tactic was clearly to make Mohammed attack with Andre just keeping the ball on the table. On top Andre has a pretty strong service forcing to return it pretty high. Fortunately Andre messed-up a couple of high balls as well as we were able to nicely counter so we won the 1st set. Besides we were able to smash 4-5 times very nicely that kept our moral high. 3:0 for us after le double bringing overall score to 3:4 before the last round.
Not much to say about 3rd round, it went as it should without much events with Philippe and myself taking our matches 3:1 both versus Andre and Heri and Seb letting Mohammed to close his Grand Chelem of the day with 0:3.
All in all 5:5, sorry captain! It was a full fairplay, great mood and entertainment from Heri ending up in Tennis de Nyon with Seb finishing a full portion of kebab faster than Heri his demi-salad. We were pleased to meet there Akos and the full team of Eysins II with their beaten opponents (7:3).
